MATT
Co-Owner
Performance runs in Matt’s blood. His great grandfather was a well-known hot-rodder and sharp businessman who owned multiple car dealerships. His great uncle followed that same path - building and restoring classic European racecars for circuit competition, with several of his restorations now displayed in museums, and earning a reputation as one of the most successful names in vintage racecar restoration and sales. That legacy didn't skip a generation.
At 12 years old, Matt was in a shed tearing down his first engine and rebuilding a carburetor - not because anyone told him to, but because he had to know how it worked. He restored his first car that same year. By 16, he had bought, repaired, and flipped countless vehicles - enough to fund his dream: a 6-speed 4th Gen Camaro that he daily drove straight through graduation. When he shipped out to the Army, the car waited. When he came home, he went back to work - this time building cars and businesses out of his driveway.
Over the years, Matt has built a reputation as a builder who knows every system of a vehicle from the inside out. Paint and body. Hand-fabricated suspension components. TIG-welded turbo systems. Chassis development. Anybody that knows him describes him simply as “a brain”.
Engine management and tuning/calibration is his expertise — setting multiple platform records on cars all across the country. From the winner's circle to Drag-n-Drive events pushing through the most brutal conditions imaginable, his work speaks for itself. That same drive to solve problems has extended beyond the shop - Matt owns several companies and has engineered automotive racing products that have proven themselves at the highest levels of competition.
That depth of knowledge is what he brings to Patriot alongside Tim, the engine building expert and co-owner. Need a turbo spec'd, a camshaft dialed in, or a tune that can win a race and survive a cross-country drive? Matt will have a hand in it. Chances are, if you've done business with Patriot — his brain has already been part of your build.
When he's not in the shop, Matt is at home with his wife of 18 years and their two sons - ages 17 and 12 - both of whom are already following in their father's footsteps. The next generation of this family is just getting started.
